Slow Down in Your Business
Caution. Slow Down. Good drivers automatically associate the color yellow with the awareness that something ahead is requiring them to slow down. Your intuition acts the same way. It lets you know when you’re heading off track and warns you there is something you need to pay attention to. Use your intuition to drive your business.
A common problem I see among solo-entrepreneurs is they feel the need zoom ahead and take action without getting the clarity they need first, AND without paying attention to what their intuition is telling them. They rush into making quick decisions and trying to do things “because everyone else is doing it”. They follow the advice of the experts but ignore their own internal wisdom. Speeding ahead in your business, without absolute clarity, will get you off track faster than anything else.
If you’re panicking to forge ahead, chances are you are probably ignoring the caution signs showing up. The little nudges your feeling; those inklings MEAN something. Pay attention to them. Slow down. Journal if you want to. Listen to what your heart is telling you to do. Trust yourself to make wise, timely decisions when you and your business are ready for it.
Your caution signs:
You’re not convinced this is the action you should be taking. Teetering back and forth over a decision might mean something is feeling “off”. Check this out first.
Your heart isn’t in it. If your heart isn’t in love with the idea, it won’t work anyway. Your heart must be completely convinced and invested in it.
You are procrastinating. This always boils down to some kind of fear, mindset, or belief. Peel back the layers and see what the REAL fear is behind the procrastination. Maybe your business is ready for the next big leap and to continue to blaze the trail, but you have to get out your own way first. Work through your internal stuff so you can move on.
Always listen to your nudges. Sometimes they will speed you up; sometimes they’ll slow you down. It’s okay to do things differently, and at your own pace. In fact, you will WANT to be different so you can be delightfully distinct from everyone else. Before zooming ahead, make some “check stops” to be sure this is the direction you heart is leading you. Growing your business is a journey, not a onetime event.

Excellent post, Doreen. Clarity and that intuition are so important. I was sharing with someone recently that I believe that what we refer to as a “gut feeling” is really God speaking to us (through intuition).and I often “go with my gut.” We do need to slow down long enough to hear God’s still, small voice – and then we can proceed full speed ahead, lol!
