I am learning that when I give Him the reins, my focus becomes His reign in my life, and whether the rains bring blessing or calamity I rest in knowing all He does or allows is for My Good and His Glory!
Let Him in, let Him change you from the inside out.
When people see what He has done in our lives, they too will Glorify Him, and many will choose Him to reign because of the change they see in us. I do not say this lightly, they will see our weaknesses, fragilities, and struggles, but they also see Him… they see Him get victory, they see His promises fulfilled. We are an evidence of His grace, His hand, and His faithfulness. The changes others witness are part of the rain of blessing even in calamity and are all because of Him and His promises to us. (Matthew 5: 14-16 the Sermon on the Mount “14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”)
He doesn’t withhold good things. All good things come from the Father! (James 1:17, KJV: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” … James 1:17, NLT: “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”)
- REIN – There are _0-15_ verses (depending on translation) on rein in the Bible. I Rein in my will, Give God the reins to my life, heart, mind, mouth, and body, and I ask Him to take the reins … (note: The word “reins” also refer to kidneys in the Bible… be sure to note the context.)
Notes/References:___I am to give Him my life; die to self; release my authority to Him and His will __ Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” ___
- REIGN – There are __98-308_ verses (depending on translation) on reign in the Bible. When I trust and chose His leadership, I lean on His understanding, not my own, and I give Him the Glory with my increase, and He REIGNS, I focus on His reign… do I reign with Him, yes, but my focus is Him.
Notes/References:____Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV “5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” ______
- RAINs – It’s really amazing how many verses talk about rain or the evidence of rain! There are __96-124_ verses (depending on translation) on rain in the Bible. I’m learning how God uses rain in many ways. It rains on the just and on the unjust, in the Old Testament there are rains of calamity for sin, and rains of blessings for the victorious.
Notes/References:___In Jesus’ sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:45 Jesus says “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” There are Rains of blessing as in Isaiah 44:1-4 (Notes on victory) “But now, listen to me, Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one. 2 The Lord who made you and helps you says: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, O dear Israel,[a] my chosen one. 3 For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children. 4 They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank.”_____
- REST – There are _339 – 603_ verses (depending on translation) on rest in the Bible. Rest comes from God, He created/invented rest. He gives us rest. Do I think I am stronger than God and do not need it? When put that way… well, Haha! Right?!
Notes/References:___ In Genesis 2:2-3 (KJV) “2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”__
