What’s not real?

It’s March 2020 and in these uncertain times, I don’t know about you, but I am finding it hard to decipher if what I’m hearing and seeing is real or not real.

Will the Real Road Runner Please Stand Up?

Every year around this season, and around certain hours of the day, one of the road runners from our farm sees his reflection in the window on the west side of the house very clearly. He’s absolutely gorgeous! And I watch him seem to lose weight and waste away because he is intent for days on end to offer this other roadrunner/his reflection, wormy and buggy treats instead of eating them himself! He dances and he preens and he jumps up and down on the window sill and he picks at the window to no avail!

I don’t know about the intelligence quotient of road runners, but I’m amazed that he doesn’t eventually learn that the beautiful friend in the window is not real!

What is Real? What is Counterfeit?

What can we depend on?

What is Real? GOD IS REAL!

We can depend on Him, we can and should cry out to Him, we can and should trust Him!

2 Corinthians 1:10-11

10 He has rescued us from terrifying encounters with death. And now we fasten our hopes on him to continue to deliver us from death yet again, 11 as you labor together with us through prayer. Because there are so many interceding for us, our deliverance will cause even more people to give thanks to God. What a gracious gift of mercy surrounds us because of your prayers!

What is Real? GOD’s BLESSINGS ARE REAL!

Every new day and every new breath God offers us is real! And we should use each day and each breath wisely. Are we concerned? Yes, and we should be.

I remember one of our sons at about age 13 seriously expressing to me that he was not sure whether God wanted him to live a married life or a single life! It was something that really concerned him. I had to say to him that I didn’t know whether God wanted him to live a single life or a married life either, but what I did know was God wanted him to live today and each new day in ways that bring God glory and honor.
