PUSH Through!
Guest Post By Sandy Myers, CPC founder of Thrive Now Coaching.
You’ve got to PUSH through to see the results you desire in your life.
Practice. Until. Something. Happens.
Then, repeat. To breakthrough to the next level of your success in your life, you must PUSH.
“Push through Sandy,” my supportive husband shared with me last night. I’d had a small meltdown regarding some business goals. I attacked these goals a couple of months ago. I repeated a series of action steps that I assumed would lead me to a different place in my business.
I grew discouraged. I had done all the right things to succeed but wasn’t where I wanted to be. Fear tried to sabotage my success, but I had to hone my faith and applaud my effort.
As I heard the words “Push Through,” the acronym came to my mind: Practice Until Something Happens. I knew “Pray Until Something Happens.” It has well-served me with encouragement to have faith. But the word, “Practice,” was the answer for me.
Faith without works (action) is dead. I can pray and believe, but I must keep taking action to see the reality of what I hope for. Practice means that we repeat a particular activity or skill so that we can become proficient in it. Practice molds our excellence, and helps us to become the best version of ourselves.
The journey to success reveals the true nature of our character. It requires us to make mindset adjustments along the way. I call these moments, “check points” along the journey. Check Points remind us “why we do what we do” so we can gain the proper perspective to continue our venture. Anything worthwhile is going to take major introspection, time and constant effort to build, but the return is amazing.
The same is true for yearly goals and resolutions. We are motivated to make the necessary changes to get to our desired goal. We sign up for classes. We go to the gym. We enter the day with promises of a positive attitude. We try to stop smoking. We take action and hit the ground running. At some point we calculate the measure of our work (check point), and we may or may not be happy with the result.
Success comes with consistency. There is no other short cut to it. At some point, an opposition will arise or a distraction tries to take us off course. Instead of trying to be flawless, realize that challenges will come.
I recently learned that with every blessing, comes a new set of challenges and trials. We may succeed in our progress, but each higher level of success brings its new set of demands. That is why we must have the positive and resilient mindset to WIN and overcome. The journey shapes you into a champion.
Every day brings an opportunity to believe in yourself and move forward with your action plan. You have to continue to “practice” your new habits, and continue to “practice” your new strategies.
Show up every day, and repeat what you accomplished the day before. Practice Until Something Happens and repeat. Don’t give up if you are not at your ideal place. Each week will fluctuate in its results but success will come with time as you PUSH through.
