When I Started Praying for My Business (Instead of Just Worrying About It)
I Thought I Had a Marketing Problem
So I bought the planner.
I joined the mastermind.
I stayed up until midnight reworking my offer (again).
And the outcome? I was still stuck.
My efforts were loud, but the fruit was quiet.
And then one morning, sitting at my desk with lukewarm coffee and a mounting to-do list, I heard this thought: “Have you even prayed about this?”
I hadn’t. Not really. Not consistently.
That’s when I realized something had to change.
What Does Praying for My Business Actually Mean?
It’s Not About Manifesting Clients
Let’s get this out of the way: praying for your business isn’t a strategy to manipulate God into sending you customers. This isn’t a vending machine theology situation.
Praying for your business means inviting God into the process, not just the results.
It’s saying: “Lord, You gave me this vision. Show me how to carry it.”
It’s less “bless what I’ve built,” and more “build with me.”
A Faith-First Mindset Shift
When you begin praying for your business, everything changes.
The pressure lifts.
The clarity sharpens.
The striving softens.
You begin operating from peace, not panic.
From purpose, not performance.
From rest, not hustle. You start creating space for rest in your workflow, knowing that you’re not building alone.
Why We Don’t Pray for Our Businesses (And Why We Should)
The Real Reasons We Hesitate
Let me guess — maybe you’ve thought: “God doesn’t care about my business decisions,” “I should just figure it out on my own,” “Prayer doesn’t pay the bills.”
But that kind of thinking? It’s keeping you overwhelmed.
What Happens When You Finally Do
When you begin praying for your business, even in simple, clumsy ways, you begin to notice a change.
You stop simply reacting.
Instead, you start discerning.
You don’t carry the weight alone.
And no, the skies don’t always part and drop your dream client in your inbox the next day. But you begin to move with purpose instead of panic.
The Business Meeting I Never Scheduled (But Needed All Along)
I started small.
Every Monday morning, I scheduled a 15-minute CEO meeting with God.
No candles. No soundtrack. Just my journal and one question: “What do You want me to focus on this week?”
Sometimes the answers were clear: “Call that person you’ve been avoiding.”
Other times? Silence.
But even in the quiet, there was peace.
That silence created mental margin. I didn’t realize it then, but it was helping me learn how to gain mental clarity — not just in my business, but in my heart.
How to Start Praying for Your Business
Not sure where to begin? You don’t need a degree in theology.
Four Simple Steps
- Pick a time. Morning, lunchtime, right before bed. Just be consistent.
- Bring a notebook. Write your questions, thoughts, and even your business numbers.
- Ask honest questions like:
- “Where am I striving instead of trusting?”
- “What do I need to release this week?”
- “Who needs what I offer today?”
- Listen. Don’t rush. Sometimes the wisdom shows up later in the day.
This isn’t about being eloquent. It’s about being available.
A Quick Reality Check: This Isn’t a Shortcut
Just to be clear — this doesn’t mean you stop working on your marketing, your lead generation, or your follow-ups.
God isn’t your personal assistant.
You still need strategy.
You still need structure.
But now, you’re building with God — not for Him and definitely not apart from Him.
And as you build, remember that faith and business can (and should) coexist — deeply, intentionally, and without compromise.
But… Does God Really Care About My Business?
Yes. Absolutely.
Your business isn’t separate from your spiritual life — it’s a part of it.
If you’ve ever felt the nudge to serve, teach, coach, or create — that didn’t come from nowhere. That was a calling.
And He doesn’t call you to something and then ghost you in the details.
He’s in the marketing strategy.
He’s in the email that flopped.
He’s even in the numbers you’re afraid to look at.
Why This Matters for Christian Women Entrepreneurs
You’re juggling a lot — probably too much.
And if you’re like many NACWE women, you’re spinning plates labeled:
- Faith
- Finances
- Friendships
- Family
- Funnel Strategy (just for fun)
Praying for your business isn’t an “extra.” It’s the only way to make it all sustainable.
You weren’t meant to carry it all. You were meant to partner with the One who can.
And that’s a truth many Christian women entrepreneurs are rediscovering every day.
This Is What NACWE Is All About
At NACWE, we don’t just talk about business tactics. We talk about doing business with God at the center.
We’re not here to pressure you into one-size-fits-all strategies. We’re here to support your unique, God-given calling in community.
We pray together. We grow together.
And yes — we talk about real marketing that feels like you.
Your Next Step
If this post tugged at something deep inside you…
If you’ve been spinning your wheels, exhausted but still hopeful…
Then maybe it’s time to stop trying harder — and start praying smarter.
Because you’re not meant to figure it all out alone.
