1. When did you start your business and how has it evolved since then?
I started my Life Purpose Coaching business officially in July 2008. I started out slow, and gradually built a small client base through referrals only. As it evolves I am learning what works, and what doesn’t work so well, and am constantly looking for new ways to offer services and identify what my clients really need. With the popularity of social media, I am now learning how to leverage everything I do and communicate through a variety of different marketing avenues. I was slow to jump on the Facebook and Twitter bandwagon, but now I really believe that everyone needs to have a presence there in order to compete, and to grow your visibility. Old fashioned print advertising alone isn’t enough. Marketing today is more about building relationships and providing useful information to potential clients.
2. What do you love about being a female entrepreneur?
I love the freedom that comes with being a female entrepreneur. I am free to offer whatever services best fit my business, and I am free to schedule my time in a way that allows me to prioritize my life, which includes family and friends. I also love the connections that I am now making with other women who are stepping into their own businesses and dreaming big. It’s exciting!
3. How does your faith play out in your business?
My faith is central to everything I say and do. Since I am a christian Life Purpose Coach, all my clients know in advance that I will always offer my services from a christian perspective and my goal is to help them grow in their faith along with whatever area we are working on. Faith in the Marketplace is crucial, and I love being able to help women navigate their way through how to balance their faith in the workplace and their circle of influence in a way that positively impacts others.
4. What is your BIG DREAM for your business?
My big dream for my business is that I will be able to offer an even high level of Life Purpose packages that will focus on 2-day intensives with a year-long follow up and coaching program built in. I not only want to be their Life Purpose coach and help them identify their calling, but I want to coach the on to success as they take steps towards their big goals. I am also going to be offering more tele-group coaching in order to make Life Purpose coaching accessible to more women. Nothing would bless me more than to see every woman boldly step up into her calling and not waste any time. I want them to live Extraordinary lives that will have a huge Kingdom impact as they offer their services to make a difference in the lives of others.
5. What 3 tips would you share with a friend who is launching her own entrepreneurial adventure?
- Pray, Pray, and Pray some more.
- Get a coach to help you create a plan of action and be accountable to it
- Make sure you have passion for whatever it is you want to do because when you hit the rough spots you need to make sure you are passionate about what you do so that you will have the desire to keep going and never give up.
