Bio:
Jennie Poppenger launched her new business Face to Face on June 1st. She’s the Social Media Whisperer who specializes in helping businesses and non-profits raise their visibility and develop great relationships with their friends on facebook. She’s a professional speaker, networker, community organizer and is passionate about helping women connect and thrive, especially if it involves food and high heels.
Before starting her own business, she was a Business Development Director with WAY-FM Christian rock radio station, Customer Service manager at the Furniture Row Corporate office, the most valuable employee at Steamboat Ski & Resort in Sales & Marketing because she doesn’t ski, and a Jenny Craig Weight Loss Consultant who sometimes kept a stash of doughnuts close by for emergencies.
She’s been married to her smokin’ hot Wild at Heart man for 16 years, and they love adventures in the mountains together. She often schemes of jobs for him to do around the house that will require a tool belt. There are two lovely young ladies and a grown man who call her mom, and they’re 15, 20 and 25. Throw in a beautiful daughter-in-law for good measure. They all keep her grounded by NEVER laughing at her jokes. Jennie has led women’s ministry and worship in the faith community and started a support group for cops wives. She serves as the Chairperson for
Community of Faith United, a local non-profit and loves to work together on teams.
Jennie is the oldest of 5 kids, has been adopted twice – once by her heavenly father and once by her dad, went to 13 schools while growing up, played the glockenspiel, was rejected from the cheerleader try-outs four years in a row, and acted in community theater. She has been divorced, has a terrible habit of making piles all over the house (but can usually find things), hires someone to do her scrapbooking for her because it’s not her spiritual gift, throws a lavish Academy Awards party every year and loves her girlfriends, women’s roller derby, chocolate and Wonder Woman. She has a fantasy of getting locked in Barnes & Noble (with the Starbucks open) by herself overnight.
She loves serving and living with passion, isn’t afraid to fail, and is determined to use social media for good and to help as many people as she can. Most importantly, she’s been saved by grace and loves to share that grace with others. On her tombstone, she’d like the inscription, “Could this day get any better?!”
