How to Network and Listen for God in the Experience
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Networking is NOT a dirty word. In fact, God creates us to “need” each other so that when we fall, “one will lift up his fellow”. I had 3 unique God appointments last week. Each different. Each were uncomfortable for me. You see……the truth is that I am very Type A. (read: Control Freak) I spend a lot of my time coaching and leading people each week by way of phone, webinar, teleclass, etc. I can “wing it” with the best of them. In fact, winging it should be my next webinar topic. So when I have an appointment with no official agenda and I do not know what or how to prepare it makes me squirmy. I had 3 such appointments last week.
But God loves to get us less “comfy” and I am used to that. So I show up, because my Daddy (God) told me too. Divine appointments all around. Women that I needed to know. Messages I needed to hear. Hearts open and sharing. I know God was talking to me through these women……and I hope they got to hear what they needed from me too.
There is an unspoken power in connecting. We are not meant to live in a vacuum or try to do all of this by ourselves.
So my question for you today is, what does it mean for you to connect?
A connection is the linking of people or things together. It can be the joining of people, things, or events.
A connection is more than just being in the vicinity of others. It comes down to being close on a heart to heart level. It means talking about important things and sharing life together.
I created the National Association of Christian Women Entrepreneurs so that I could find you. I was sitting in my office in Wichita Falls Texas in 2009 and wanting to talk with you and pray with you and learn from you. So I followed the God whisper that became a God shout and here we are 3 years later. What a wild ride it has been! There is power and leverage in the connection and/or association. There is a power in the WE-ness of a group. I am not alone and it gives me strength.
I pray that you will watch for divine appointments this week and let go of your agenda. Listen for what God wants you to learn. Get uncomfortable.
