As a novice writer, I thumbed through glossy magazines coveting the bylines. I scoured bookshelves lusting over the author’s name on the spine. I inhaled the richness of fresh ink on the crisp pages—all while dreaming of the day I would see my name in print.
The good news? You don’t have to be a scholar or a genius to be published. I bear witness. My words have been featured in national and international magazines, even graced the covers of a few. They have been used as content for radio and television ads. Won awards, too. Plus I’ve written a couple books. And I am not even degreed. I am simply a Christian woman who writes from the heart.

In my journey, I have discovered seven common characteristics of good writing–the really good stuff. And I want to share that with you.
