“Ciara Daykin is The Event Choreographer. She is the CEO of Firefly Occasions. Ciara has a BA in Communications and Culture from the University of Calgary with a major in Leisure and Tourism. She also had a Latin American Studies diploma from the Collegio de Jalisco which she received while living and studying in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Ciara worked at the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences which plans the Canadian Juno Awards. She also worked for one of Canada’s top promotional product companies working with clients such as GE and Heinz.

Ciara is an award winning event designer and a sought after speaker in the wedding industry. She has spoken in front of hundreds of wedding planners at events such as the Association of Bridal Consultants Annual Conference and the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada Annual Conference. Thousands of wedding planners follow Ciara’s teachings via her coaching division Rockstar Wedding Planner.

Ciara started in weddings planning her own wedding. But that only fed into her long time addiction to Martha Stewart Weddings. With a love for all things wedding Ciara founded Firefly Occasions to bring the best of the wedding world to brides in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Ciara is known for out of the box ideas, design ideas that reflect the couple’s personality and for being a master negotiator on behalf of the bride and the groom. Ciara is a perfectionist when it comes to organizing large weekend weddings. She often deals with clients who’s privacy and confidentiality are imperative. Ciara also prides herself on focusing with a bride not only on planning the wedding but in helping her through the transition from single to married.

Ciara is married to the President of Firefly, Simon Daykin, and together they specialize in designing and planning weddings that reflect both the bride’s and groom’s personality. Ciara is a new Mom to her son Declan and a puppy Mom to 2 bichon shih tzus, Kohl and Chayse. She is also a alumni of Calgary high school Strathcona Tweedsmuir School and volunteers often at school functions. Ciara has helped many alumni with their weddings. Something you might not know about Ciara is that she is a classically trained singer and she once competed in the Miss Calgary pageant and came in in the top 10.”
