Let’s get the basics out of the way. Who are you? Where are you from? I am Becky Reese of Traverse City, MI.  I have a loving husband of 19 years and 5 incredible children. My website is www.BeckyReese.com.

When and why was your business started?  I started my business in November 2010 to give back and to help others. It was what I knew in my heart I had to do.

What do you love about being a female entrepreneur? I love that I can help other females.

How did you launch your business and/or dream? I launched it with the help of great business coaches and through some wonderful mentoring groups.

How do you stay inspired? Looking at my three girls! By me speaking my piece and living my life true to myself, I set a good example and open doors for them.

What are the biggest challenges you have overcome as a female entrepreneur? The biggest challenge is having a family and a business.

What is your BIG DREAM for your business – what do you hope will happen? My biggest dream for my business is to be able to help women and children with my charity.

How do you incorporate your faith into your business? I live by my faith. I try to read my devotionals daily. I try to stay true to who I am and live by God’s word.

What are you favorite biblical parallels and verses that encourage you? Why? My favorite passage is Philippians 4:13.  I say it daily. I also love Isaiah 7:9.

How do you promote/market your business? I get a lot of help from other women entrepreneurs, I use social media, and for my running club, I have been attending running expos to spread the word.

What is the biggest risk that you have taken in your business? Has it paid off? My biggest risk has got to be that I bared my soul and shared my true feelings. I took a stand on what I believed in, without knowing how people would respond. What I found is I am not alone!

What risk do you need to take now? I need to not be afraid about the finances. Because of my past, I find myself playing the “what if” game. What if I don’t succeed? You know what I’m talking about!

What media opportunities have you had? I have already been interviewed on a New Jersey Christian radio station, I have three more radio interviews scheduled next week, and I will be on a National TV talk show next month! That means I will have been featured on all three major networks, plus in November I will be featured on an hour- long show in Canada, which makes me go international!  

What one woman epitomizes (for you) a model of Christian entrepreneurial leadership? Why? Ali Brown – because one of the first meetings I had with her (my husband’s meeting actually), she called us out and asked right away “Do you go to church?” When we said no, she said “Why not?” She was flabbergasted, almost appalled, that we didn’t go to church regularly. Tamara Gold has also been instrumental in my accomplishments and my spiritual growth. She reminds me daily that God does NOT make mistakes!

What tips would you share with a friend setting out on her own entrepreneurial adventure? Follow your heart. Sometimes it’s scary to make that first step because you worry about what other people will think. But if you follow your heart, you can’t go wrong.

What resources and books would you recommend—the ones which have best helped you? The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene Gaines is my number one all time favorite book to inspire me and to keep me knowing that I will be okay! Of course Ali Brown gave it to me!

What do you have coming up? Events? Book Signings? I’m doing a fundraiser. I didn’t want to do a lot of book signings because it means a lot of time away from my family. I want to promote Sexy Moms Running Club because that is really where my heart is.

Who were/are your mentors? Ali Brown and Tamara Gold . I couldn’t have done it without them.
