Lori Auten is currently the managing member of Auten Consulting Group, a small business consulting firm that works with small and medium-sized companies to formulate growth and business planning strategies. Ms. Auten was formerly a public service faculty member of the University of Georgia with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Columbus, GA. She was a business consultant, area director, regional director, and associate state director during her 16 career with the SBDC, and during that time she worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs in the areas of business planning, accessing capital, strategic management and marketing.

In 2010, she and her husband Greg opened Tidal Wave Auto Spa of Milledgeville, an express car wash facility. She and Greg also recently purchased majority ownership in a local screen printing company, Colormac 2, LLC.

Before joining the SBDC, Ms. Auten worked in banking and was heavily involved in community relations and outreach. Ms. Auten is on the board of directors for the Rotary Club of Columbus, Better Business Bureau, and the Columbus Public Library and is the past-chairman of the Columbus Trade Center Authority. Ms. Auten is also a graduate of Leadership Columbus and has been featured in Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Georgia”.

Ms. Auten has a daughter (Alston), who attends Georgia Tech. Her hobbies include horseback riding, travel, reading, running and golf.
