Clarifying, Visualizing, and Setting Intention for the New Year
2012 ushers in a new year. You may see this new year as a fresh start, a do-over, a time to reflect on victories and opportunities from 2011, and an intense time of planning for the upcoming year.
In your planning, how much time do you spend in meditation of God’s plan and how that correlates with your plan? “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)
Clarifying your focus, goals, and dreams is one of the number one priorities business coaches will tell you is key to success in your business. Knowing what you are accomplishing and who you are marketing to have to be clarified in order to understand how to proceed with your copy, advertising, and your writing/product focus. God is very clear in the matter of our visioning our plan.
CLARIFY YOUR VISION
Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish”. Getting clear on your vision/God’s vision is essential. You need to allow time for God to speak in the matter.
Prior to your major planning session, make it a priority to spend time with God and listen as He ushers peace to certain projects and a plan of strategy. Your unique branding may have several aspects to it.
During your quiet time, walk around the room and actually talk out loud how the flow of your business works. Walking increases oxygen flow and can help with clarity. Write down your process. Write down new ideas that come to your mind and spirit. Write down your “why.”
Why do you have this business? Knowing your why will also help when you get “bumps” in your business.
VISUALIZATION OF YOUR VISION
Visualization is different than visioning. Visioning is the process I just talked about in the previous section. Visualization is when you have a visual representation of your vision. This can just be your vision/business plan where words are on your paper, or you can create a simple vision board.
The vision board is a picture/word representation of your vision and you can place it in an obvious place, either in your office or other area where you will be reminded of your plan. Habakkuk 2:1, 2 tells us to watch and see what God speaks to us, and then to write down the vision and make it plain! (my paraphrase)
SETTING YOUR INTENTION
The power of your words, whether spoken or thought with your mind, is crucial to the life of your business. Setting your intention for success and believing for the success is vital. There can’t be a disconnect between what you say and what is in your heart.
If your words say, “I am successful,” but your heart says, “There is no way I am going to meet this goal,” you are really speaking with your heart, whether you say it or not. As you have assurance your business is on the right path and your plan lines up with God’s plan, set yourself up to receive what God has for you.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Speak life to yourself and your business. Allow the words from your mouth and your heart to speak life.
Whether you realize it or not, people listen to your words, but they “hear” what is in your heart. If your words and your heart do not align, you might benefit from belief breakthrough coaching.
Begin by displaying words of affirmation and verses of encouragement on 3 x 5 cards and place where you will see these frequently. Believe in who you are!
Speak life to yourself and your business. When you are clear on the message/business God has for you and YOU believe in who you are as the anointed and appointed Godly Businesswoman, it’s an awesome journey!
