10 Ways a Mastermind Group can Propel your Business to the Next Level
Abundance. It is time to step into a new paradigm as we move into the turning of the calendar. The word that God is showing me personally and professionally is abundant (and/or abundance) and my theme for 2013 is Live Abundant. A large part of that for me is about my thinking and the group of people that I surround myself with. It is about my inner circle of friends, colleagues, mentors, and my coach. It is about the power of stepping into a new place.
Napoleon Hill wrote about the mastermind group principle in Think and Grow Rich as: “The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.” He continues… “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind [the master mind].
We are launching a new mastermind group in January here at the National Association of Christian Women Entrepreneurs and enrolling women now. I know how much groups like this have changed the course of my business, my thinking and my life but I wanted you to see the ways up close and personal.
10 ways a Mastermind Group Can Move You to the Next Level in Your Business as a Christian Women Entrepreneur
Way # 1 is the Synergy The power of the group creates something bigger than itself. The definition of synergy is: “combined effort being greater than parts: the working together of two or more people, organizations, or things, especially when the result is greater than the sum of their individual effects or capabilities.” By joining forces with a group of other women, you expand your reach exponentially through the power of the group knowledge and connects.
Way # 2 is the Training We all need continuing education. We live in a giant vacuum of information. But that can then become “information overload”. Being in a training program can help to keep you focused on the assignment for each week and get feedback from other women in different parts of the world and in different industries.
Way # 3 is the Connection Emotional support from our colleagues is crucial. Often our family or local friends might not fully understand what we do or why we do it. We need that lifeline support from our online friends who “get us” and “get it” as we move forward with our weekly and monthly goals. We especially need the support of other Godly women who understand us.
Way # 4 is the Coaching Just the right push, on the right day, from people who love us, can get us out the door. We all need a coach.
Way # 5 is the Consistency Business success is built on consistent behavior. It is not about a “magic pill” or “get rich quick” program. It is about one day at a time, step by step, actions that build upon each other. Being in a group takes away the anonymity that can happen when we are working alone.
Way # 6 is the Accountability We need accountability. I like to say that it is like getting on the scale each morning (which I do) and writing down the number (which I also do). The scale does not lie. Being accountable to your peers is a powerful process. It helps us to know we are not perfect to be accountable with our colleagues to what we say we are going to do.
Way # 7 is the Hotseats Each group will have laser focused hotseats for the members to get coaching for instant results and breakthroughs. A hotseat experience is when we all focus in on you and your business topic or challenge.
Way # 8 is the Sisterhood As women of God, we need the sisterhood support that comes from a group of likeminded women. We don’t need judgement, or corporate competition or backstabbing. We need love, encouragement, and combined resources. We need each other.
Way # 9 is the Inspiration One of the best things about a mastermind group process is the inspired ideas that are constantly brewing and being shared within the private forum. We help take the ideas, sift them out, and turn them into reality.
Way # 10 is the God Factor Without God, we don’t have a business as far as I am concerned. God gave me my business and it is my job to honor it, and do ALL that I can with it, and for it. It is my mission. In our mastermind groups, we know that God is a part of every conversation, training, or tutorial. He is our CEO and business partner. He provides the missing links that we cannot.
